Allegro Real Estate was founded in 2025 by Joseph Russell and Ian Fairweather, both of whom were Fund Managers at CBRE Investment Management, where they were collectively responsible for managing assets in excess of £2.6bn and transacting over £2bn on behalf of UK diversified real estate portfolios.
We are a multi-sector real estate investment management business and operating partner with a combined 25 years’ experience and a track record of sourcing opportunities and delivering accretive asset management.
Our approach combines our institutional experience with the ability to act at tempo to seize attractive opportunities. This is the essence of Allegro (adverb) music term: performed in a fast and energetic way.

Ian Fairweather MRICS, MSc, BA
Director
Ian has over 16 years’ UK commercial real estate experience having started his career at the property management company Workman in 2009. From 2014 to 2025 he was a fund manager at CBRE Investment Management, and latterly a Senior Director running a team responsible for over £1.6bn of UK property assets. Ian developed a breadth of experience managing 5 funds during this time. He has managed portfolios with different profiles and objectives, ranging from executing sell downs to building portfolios from scratch. He operated a “cradle to grave” approach, devising strategies, identifying investment opportunities, executing business plans and managing sales.
Ian has transacted across all core sectors including some niche (data centers, power stations, pubs). He has also acquired across the risk return spectrum having undertaken speculative developments through to secure long income assets. This has enabled him to develop a well-balanced approach to appraising investments as well as a broad range of investment contacts. He has transacted over £1.2bn of assets across 112 deals.
Ian is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He holds a MSc (Hons) degree with distinction in Estate Management from London South Bank University and BA (Hons) in Geography from Nottingham University.
